Every year, the Medicine Hat Tigers hold their Annual Teddy Bear Toss game where once the first goal is scored, fans are encouraged to throw teddy bears and clothing items onto the ice. All the teddy bears and clothing items are collected by the team and split between the Medicine Hat Health Foundation, the Medicine Hat Women’s Shelter, the local Salvation Army & the Santa Claus Fund.
This year, the Tigers played the Saskatoon Blades on December 3, 2022, and Oasiz Wiesblatt scored the goal to send the bears flying onto the ice. The team collected 1,346 stuffed animals and 1,510 winter wear items from the ice.
As per tradition, the teddy bear toss goal scorer along with the team captains visit the Hospital to deliver teddy bears to patients staying in the paediatrics ward. Captain Owen MacNeil and Alternate Captains Dallon Melin, Dru Krebs, Rhett Parsons and Tyler MacKenzie delivered the bears this year.
Thank you Medicine Hat for your generosity!
