Carl Tardif admitted into the Ambassadors’ Club
QMJHL Director of Communications and Media Relations Maxime Blouin today confirmed the admission of former journalist and Sports Director for Le Soleil, Carl Tardif, to the League’s Ambassadors’ Club. The League is honouring Tardif’s significant contributions to sports journalism, particularly in his coverage of the Quebec Remparts and the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League.
The Quebec City native recently retired after an illustrious 39-year career at Le Soleil where he began his extensive journey at the newspaper in 1984 as a statistician. Tardif started his QMJHL coverage with the arrival of the Beauport Harfangs in 1990. His journalistic ventures then expanded to the Olympic Games starting in 1994 in Lillehammer, marking the first of his eleven Olympic experiences across the globe throughout his distinguished career.
“Carl Tardif deserves recognition for his outstanding commitment to local sports coverage in the Quebec City area, especially in regard to junior hockey and the Quebec Remparts,” mentioned Maxime Blouin, the QMJHL’s Director of Communications and Media Relations. “Over the past three decades, his contributions significantly benefited the Remparts franchise and the entire league, enabling fans to stay informed with captivating stories.”
The Ambassadors’ Club brings together former players, coaches, builders, and officials who played a pivotal role in shaping today’s QMJHL. The League has always prioritized acknowledging individuals who have contributed to elevating the league’s prominence and credibility. Therefore, Carl Tardif fits this description and unquestionably earned his place among other QMJHL builders.
