The Drakkar will rise their banner

(Longueuil, Friday, September 12, 2003)- The Commissioner of the QMJHL, Gilles Courteau, will officially proceed tonight to the rise of the banner of the last season’ champions, the Baie-Comeau Drakkar.

The opening game of the Baie-Comeau Drakkar, for the 2003-2004 season, is tonight while the Lewiston MAINEiacs are the visitors. The game will start at 7:30pm and will be preceded by pre-game ceremonies.

Indeed, Commissioner Gilles Courteau, Governor and co-owner Jacques Tremblay and head-coach of last season, Richard Martel, will rise the banner of the 2002-2003 season’ champions. Martin Laperrière will be the new head coach this season with Baie-Comeau and Richard Martel will be the General Manager.

Finally, there are seven other games in the QMJHL tonight. Tomorrow, the Baie-Comeau Drakkar will host the Québec Remparts at the Henry-Léonard Centre at 7:00pm.
