The Mooseheads won the season series with Charlottetown 8-1. Charlottetown won the first meeting of these two teams in September by a score of 5-2. After that the Mooseheads have rolled off eight straight wins against the Islanders by scores of 4-2, 4-3, 4-1, 5-2, 5-1, 5-1, 7-4 and a 3-2 OT win in their most recent meeting on March 11^th in Charlottetown.

Stats and facts:

Halifax ended the regular season on a 13 game winning streak…The Mooseheads tied for the league’s best home record with a 25-7-0-2 record in the Metro Centre……Charlottetown has a record of 3-4-2-1 in their last 10 games and a road record this season of 8-24-0-2…….Halifax’s Jonathan Drouin was named the QMJHL first star for the final week of the season claiming the honour after scoring 12 PTS (4G, 8A) in 3 games…….Charlottetown’s leading scorer 16-year old Daniel Sprong put up 20 PTS (10G, 10A) over the final 17 games for the Islanders……Halifax’s goaltender Zach Fucale had the best goals against average in the QMJHL registering a 2.26GAA in 50 games and also tied with Baie Comeau’s Phillipe Cardorette for the most wins in the QMJHL with 36……The Islanders enjoyed great production from their first year players, with two rookies leading their team in scoring and have a total of 8 first year players playing regularly for them……The Mooseheads Phillipe Gadoury took the QMJHL by storm after joining the Herd in January, the winger scored 20 goals and had 6 assists for 26 PTS in just 19 games……Charlottetown’s Spencer Cobbold stepped up offensively for the Islanders at the end of the season racking up 14 PTS (6G, 8A) during the final 12 games of the season.
