Mior named ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week
TORONTO, Thursday, February 14, 2008 – The Canadian Hockey League today announced that Ryan Mior of the Gatineau Olympiques is the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week after posting a 2-0-0-0 record along with one shutout, a 0.50 goals against average and .981 save percentage in two games last week.
Mior made 32 saves in a 5-1 win over the Victoriaville Tigres on Wednesday and then had a 21-save shutout in a 3-0 win over the Quebec Remparts on Saturday. The shutout helped him tie the team record of five shutouts in a season set by Jose Theodore during the 1995-96 season. Mior also set a new team record with 14 career shutouts. The 20-year-old from St. John’s, NL improved his season record to 24-17 with a 2.85 goals against average and .900 save percentage in 45 games.
Jakub Kovar of the Windsor Spitfires was the OHL nominee after posting a 3-0-0-0 record with a 1.65 goals against average and .940 save percentage in three games and Travis Yonkman of the Swift Current Broncos was the WHL nominee after winning both of his starts and holding a 1.00 goals against average and .961 save percentage.
