Darryl Seward joins Wildcats staff
MONCTON, Thursday, August 14, 2008 – The Moncton Wildcats announced today that Darryl Seward will join the team as a part-time assistant coach.
"We’re really excited to have Darryl on our staff for this season. He had worked for us in a volunteer capacity for the past several years specializing in our video work and did an excellent job," said Danny Flynn, head coach and director of hockey operations for the Moncton Wildcats. "We’re excited to welcome him back and give him increased responsibilities."
Originally from Lewisporte Newfoundland, Seward has spent the past four years as assistant coach of the Moncton Jr a Beavers of the MJAHL. In 2003-2004 Seward was the head coach of the Moncton Bantam AAA Subways and in 2002-2003 he was the head coach of the Moncton Peewee AAA Hawks, leading both teams to Provincial and Atlantic championships.
"This is an outstanding opportunity. I’m looking forward to working with Fabian and Danny and the entire Wildcats organization," said Seward.
Seward is a graduate of Memorial University of Newfoundland, holds a Hockey Canada advanced 1 coach certification and has been employed in the Moncton area for the past 10 years. He has also been heavily involved in the Hockey Canada program of excellence at the U-15, U-16, U-17 levels.
