CHL on Rogers Sportsnet Starts on Sunday

The Regina Pats host the Spokane Chiefs on Sunday, October 20 in the first Canadian Hockey League on Rogers Sportsnet broadcast of the 2002 – 2003 season. The game is the first of 36 national and regional games that will be broadcast on Rogers Sportsnet this season.

The 36 game schedule includes all three Hershey Cup All-star Games, the Home Hardware Top Prospect Game and all games of the 2003 MasterCard Memorial Cup from Quebec City. The Western Hockey League and the Ontario Hockey League will both have games featured on regional broadcasts. The WHL will have a four game regional package starting on February 18 with the Seattle Thunderbirds visiting the Vancouver Giants. The OHL regional package, which starts on November 10 with Guelph Storm hosting the Kingston Frontenacs, consists of four regular season games and six playoff games.

Reseau des Sports, RDS, will also be a part of the CHL’s broadcast schedule this season. RDS is scheduled to broadcast the Hershey Cup CHL All-star series games from Hull and Kitchener and two Ontario Hockey League – Quebec Major Junior Hockey League interlocking games. Four games from the 2003 MasterCard Memorial Cup are also part of the RDS broadcast schedule.
