Schenn Agrees to New Deal with Toronto
Former Kelowna Rockets defenceman Luke Schenn has agreed to a five-year contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Schenn, 21, played all 82 games last season and scored five goals and 17 assists. The Saskatoon native is entering his fourth season with the Maple Leafs.
Now, 21, Schenn played three seasons with the Rockets, beginning in 2005-06 and ending in 2007-08, his final season when he had seven goals, 21 assists and 100 PIMs.
The 6’2, 215-pound rearguard finished his three-year, $2.625 million entry level contract at the end of last season. He was Toronto’s first round pick, fifth overall, in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
According to TSN the deal is worth $3.6 million per season.
