Rockets Edge Victoria 3-2 to Move to 5-0 in Pre-Season

The Kelowna Rockets remained unbeaten in the Western Hockey League pre-season after a 3-2 win in Victoria Friday night.
Goalie Jordon Cooke made 29 saves, including 16 in the third period, to preserve the win for the Rockets, who trailed 2-1 after the first, but scored two straight second period goals to take the lead.
Austin Ferguson scored the game winning goal with just 34 seconds remaining in the second period, giving Kelowna a 3-2 lead heading to the third period. Colton Sissons, earlier in the second, and Filip Vasko also scored for the Rockets while Codey Chikie had two helpers.
The Rockets outshot Victoria 38-31 overall in the game.
The win improved Kelowna’s pre-season record to 5-0 heading to Vancouver on Saturday night. The Rockets take on the Giants to close their pre-season in a game that will start at 7:30 p.m.
