Question: What was your reaction upon hearing you were drafted by the Rockets?
Smart: After hearing the news I was beyond excited. Being drafted by such a great organization and to my hometown is like a dream come true.
Q: What has been your best hockey achievement to date?
Smart: I would definitely say that being drafted by the Kelowna Rockets would be my best hockey achievement to date. Being chosen in the first round by a team with a reputation of developing great NHL defenseman is an incredible opportunity.
Q: What strengths do you feel you bring to a hockey team?
Smart: I feel I bring a two way game where I can jump in on the offense but at the same time play good defense.
Q: Who is your favourite NHL team and why?
Smart: My favorite NHL team is the Montreal Canadiens. They play the game with speed and creativity…and my family have always been Habs fans.
Q: Who is your favourite NHL player and why?
Smart: My favorite NHL player is P.K. Subban. I like his style of play – he is a creative player who is fun to watch and he is a real leader on the Canadiens.
