Seven Generals to Attend NHL Preseason Tournaments and Training Camp
The Oshawa Generals have several players heading to NHL training camps this September. The list includes seven current Generals who are ready to showcase their skills in front of the big clubs.
Winger Serron Noel (FLA (2018) RD: 2 (#34)) will attend training camp with the Florida Panthers. Pathers rookie camp is set for September 10th and 11th before training camp opens on September 13th. Florida’s preseason opens against the Nashville Predators when they travel to Nashville for their first game on September 16th before travelling the Canada’s east cost to take on the Montreal Canadiens.
The training camp of the Montreal Canadiens will include Oshawa Generals forward Allan McShane (MTL (2018) RD: 4 (#97)). This will be his second trip to the Canadiens main camp. The Canadiens will hold their annual rookie camp from September 5th-10th. The rookies will take part in Rookie Tournament held in Belleville September 6th-9th, also featuring the Ottawa Senators and Winnipeg Jets.
Defenseman Nico Gross (NYR (2018) RD: 4 (#101)) will be taking part in the New York Rangers training camp. He will travel with the team to the Traverse City Tournament, taking on teams like the Toronto Maple Leafs, Detroit Red Wings, Chicago Blackhawks, Columbus Blue Jackets, Dallas Stars, Minnesota Wild and St. Louis Blues, which runs from September 6th-10th. The Rangers open the preseason on September 18th versus the New Jersey Devils.
Generals defenceman Giovanni Vallati (WPG (2018) RD: 5 (#153)) will attend training camp with the Winnipeg Jets. For the first time, the Jets won’t be participating in the Young Stars Classic in British Columbia, and will travel to Belleville, Ontario to play in the Rookie Showcase against the Ottawa Senators and Montreal Canadiens. Winnipeg opens the preseason schedule on September 16th when the travel to Edmonton to take on the Oilers.
Captain Kyle MacLean (NYI prospect, AHL contract signed) will attend training camp with the New York Islanders. The Islanders preseason begins on September 16th spanning seven games, facing the Philadelphia Flyers, Detroit Red Wings, New York Rangers and New Jersey Devils.
Generals overage forward (NYI free agent invite) will attend Islanders training camp. He previously attended their rookie camp in early July, and received an invite to main camp following his performance their. Islanders’ players have already reported to camp as it gets underway this week ahead of their preseason schedule.
Mitchell Brewer (SJ free agent invite) will attend camp with the San Jose Sharks. He previously attended their rookie camp in early July before being invited back to participate in the 2019 Anaheim Rookie Tournament. Held from Sept 7th-10th will feature the Anaheim Ducks, Arizona Coyotes, Colorado Avalanche, LA Kings, Vegas Golden Knights along with the Sharks. The Sharks open their preseason against the Ducks on September 17th.
Other notable mentions, recent Generals alumni Brandon Saigeon (COL (2018) RD: 5 (#140)) will attend Colorado Avalanche training camp and Anthony Salinitri (NYR free agent invite) will play in Traverse City with the New York Rangers.
