Generals seek out revenge for Family Day game against IceDogs
Oshawa, Ont., – The Oshawa Generals are looking for a home win against the Niagara IceDogs after dropping their last three at the Tribute Communities Centre.
Oshawa is coming off a 2-1 shootout victory over the Erie Otters that saw them sweep the season series and snap a five-game losing streak. The Gens are second in the East Division and sit in fourth place in the conference, but it has been tough sledding as they are 4-2-4-0 over their last 10 games.
The IceDogs enter this one last in the Ontario Hockey League just one point behind the Generals’ rivals, the Peterborough Petes. Over their last 10 games, they are 4-5-1-0 as they try and dig their way out of the cellar.
Last Meeting
It has been but a couple of days since these two teams squared off and it was Niagara taking down Oshawa 4-3 in overtime.
The Gens got out to an early lead when David Bedkowski picked up his second goal of the year, and after the IceDogs responded with a goal of their own. Matthew Buckley scored, sending the Generals into the locker room up 2-1.
Just 14 seconds into the second period, Luca Marrelli scored his third of the season, and the only goal in the frame as Oshawa carried a 3-1 lead into the third.
But it was all IceDogs from there as Niagara would score two in the third, tying the game at 3-3 and sending the game to overtime a little over the halfway mark, they would score again completing the comeback.
