GAME DAY: GENS VS STORM
Tonight, the Oshawa Generals wrap up their season series with the Guelph Storm as they look to achieve the split. The two teams met four games into the season where the Storm emerged victorious in a 5-4 final despite a hard-fought effort from the Gens.
This evening’s game marks the conclusion of the first half of the regular season and the Gens will be looking to head into the break on a winning note. While Oshawa had an off day yesterday, Guelph is completing their third game of the weekend. With a day of rest and home ice advantage, the Gennies will try to carry over the momentum from Friday’s spirited win against the Petes. The first meeting between the two clubs was a high scoring affair in which Danil Antropov and Nick Wong each tallied two goals apiece. Special teams were a pivotal factor as two of the Storm’s goals came on the powerplay, including the game-winner. The Gens PK unit, which has gone 14-for-16 in their past four home games, will need to continue their aggressive approach as they take on the league’s third-ranked road powerplay team.

After a brief holiday break, the Generals will be back home to do battle against the Erie Otters for the final time this regular season on Thursday, December 28th at 7:05 pm. The team will then travel to Ottawa to faceoff against the 67s in a divisional matchup on Friday, December 29th at 7:00 pm. The Gens will be in Oshawa to ring in the New Year when they welcome the North Bay Battalion to town for their first meeting of the season on Monday, January 1st with puck drop set for 2:05 pm.
