Attack Suffer in a 5-1 Lose on Family Day
It has been a tough go for the Owen Sound Attack this past weekend as they suffered their third lose in a row, going up against the Mississauga Steelheads at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre. The Steelheads would bring a 5-1 victory over Owen Sound Monday February 19th, leaving the bears’ to a single goal by Colby Barlow during the second period. In net for the Attack was Carter George making 28 saves overall.
With a jolting start, both teams would find their footing early throughout the first period. Play would continue to keep at a steady pace, although no goals would made. With both Owen Sound and Mississauga making 13 shots on goal, play had the ability to sway either direction.
Making quick use of the second period, The Steelheads would secure two early goals on the Attack opening the score. Late into the second period, Ethan Burroughs would make a quick pass to Deni Goure from behind the Steelheads net. Goure, in the left corner of the rink would swiftly move the puck towards Barlow, making a one-timer in tothe back of the Steelheads net. This would leave the Attack one point behind the Steelheads at 2-1.
Moving into the third period, the Attack would struggle to bring their defence up consistently. The Steelheads would use this to their advantage, along with some interesting calls from Officials, to bring up their score to 5-1.
