Attack Announce 2nd Charity Game Night Partner for 2022-23 Season
The Owen Sound Attack are pleased to announce the partner for our 2nd charity game night in the upcoming 2022-23 season.
On Saturday, February 18th as we host the Saginaw Spirit, the Attack will welcome the Grey Bruce Hospice – Chapman House to the Bayshore as our charity partner on ‘Hockey for Hospice‘ night.
“The Grey Bruce Hospice provides an incredible service to Owen Sound and the Grey Bruce community, we are thrilled to be able to provide a platform for the Hospice to have their efforts recognized by our fans and all of us in the Attack organization.” said Evan Longland, Attack Coordinator of Community Relations. “End of life care is a service that has benefitted many people in and around the Attack, and we are proud to help bring to light the extraordinary work that all of those at the Hospice provide to our community.”
This game, as in games from past years, will feature specially designed jerseys co-created with members of the Hospice and the Attack which will be worn in the game and then auctioned to our fans. The game will also feature the traditional bucket pass, puck toss, and silent auction.
Along with the charity game night the Attack in cooperation with the hospice and community partners, will take part in several additional events and fundraising efforts in the community with more details to be shared as the game night approaches.
“Grey Bruce Hospice-Chapman House is so grateful to the Owen Sound Attack OHL Hockey Club for supporting our charity and our community.” said Dr. Sabrina Saunders, Vice Chair of the Board at Grey Bruce Hospice Inc. “Over the past 5 years we have served more than 1,500 community members, as well as their families. Events like this allow us to provide exceptional palliative care and bereavement serves, cost free, to our residents and their families. Chapman House is funded, in part by the Government, but more than 54% of our funding comes from personal donations and partnerships such as the Hockey for Hospice night.”
We look forward to having the Grey Bruce Hospice as a partner this year in what should be an exciting and rewarding season of Attack hockey.
