GIANTS SHUT DOWN COUGARS – Jackson Whistle stopped all 20 shots he faced to record his first WHL victory and shutout as the Vancouver Giants blanked the visiting Prince George Cougars 3-0 in Western Hockey League action on Tuesday.
Brendan Gallagher notched a goal and an assist while Dalton Sward and Jordan Martinook also scored for the Giants (26-14-1-1), who earn their seventh win in eight meetings versus Prince George this season.
Drew Owsley made 22 saves in a losing cause for the Cougars (13-26-0-2), who suffer their third shutout defeat over their last four games.
