COUGARS EDGE GIANTS IN SHOOTOUT — Alex Poulter and Ty Wishart scored in a shootout to lift the Prince George Cougars to a 4-3 victory over the visiting Vancouver Giants in the lone Western Hockey League contest on Thursday, November 30th.

rGreg Gardner – with a goal and an assist – Jesse Dudas and Dana Tyrell scored in regulation for the Cougars (11-18-0-0), who win their second straight game after enduring a nine-game losing skid. Former Giant Tommy Tartaglione made 25 saves through 65 minutes of regulation and overtime, and denied both Vancouver shootout attempts to claim the victory. The win keeps the Cougars in fifth place in the B.C. Division, but leaves them three points behind Seattle for eighth place in the Western Conference.

rJonathon Blum – with a goal and an assist – Evander Kane and Mario Bliznak scored in regulation for the Giants (18-7-1-3), who drop their second straight contest. Tyson Sexsmith made 15 saves through three periods and overtime, but was beaten on both Prince George shootout attempts to take the loss. The shootout defeat pads the Giants’ B.C. Division lead to eight points over second-placed Kelowna.
