SASKATOON AND CHILLIWACK COMPLETE TRADE
The Saskatoon Blades have traded 19 year-old left-winger Curt Gogol and an 8th Round 2011 Draft Pick to Chilliwack Bruins in exchange for Chris Collins. Collins is an 18 year-old forward, who has the ability to play both centre and left-wing.
Head Coach and GM, Lorne Molleken stated that, “This was a situation where we had an opportunity to bring in a younger forward that we feel has tremendous potential. We would like to thank Curt for his contributions to the Saskatoon Blades over the past two seasons.”
Gogol was acquired by the Blades in the 2009/10 season from the Kelowna Rockets. He currently leads the Eastern Conference with 59 penalty minutes.
Chris Collins was selected 77th overall by Chilliwack in the 2007 WHL Bantam Draft. In his WHL Career he has played in 88 games, with 12 goals, 29 assists and 41 points. So far this season Collins has 1 goal, 4 assists and 5 points, with 2 penalty minutes and a +2 rating.

The Chilliwack Bruins announced today that they have acquired forward Curt Gogol and an 8th round bantam draft pick in exchange for forward Chris Collins.
Gogol began his WHL career with the Kelowna Rockets where he appeared in 99 regular season games over parts of three seasons before being traded to the Saskatoon Blades at the trade deadline last season. In 58 games with the Blades Gogol scored two goals and seven assists to go along with 208 minutes in penalties.
Prior to this season, Gogol signed an NHL Entry Level contract with the NHL’s San Jose Sharks.
