Kootenay Ice make trade with Broncos

CRANBROOK, B.C. – The Kootenay Ice announced today they have traded 18-year-old forward Jeremy Schenderling to the Swift Current Broncos in exchange for 18-year-old defenceman Michael Busto.

rBusto, from Burnaby, B.C., is entering his third full season in the Western Hockey League and has five goals and 20 assists in 121 games with the Moose Jaw Warriors and Swift Current Broncos.

rKootenay General Manager Jeff Chynoweth believes Busto will be a valuable addition to the Ice’s blueline.

rMeantime, Schenderling, also entering his third full season in the WHL, will add depth up front for the Broncos. Schenderling, a native of Langley, B.C., has tallied 11 goals and 12 assists in 130 career games with the Ice.
