Brandon, Manitoba — The Western Hockey League’s Brandon Wheat Kings have placed a âHelp Wantedâ sign outside their offices at Westman Place, hoping to secure the services of a video camera operator for the 2007-2008 campaign.

rThe individual or individuals chosen for this job will be responsible for assisting Darrell Appelt in the video production during all Wheat King regular season and playoff home games.
r
rThis position would be excellent for someone who enjoys hockey, and is comfortable when it comes to electronic and video production. Previous experience in this field and in sport would be beneficial.
r
rCandidates for the position should have general knowledge of working a mini DV Video Camera, setting up DVD recording devices and digital convertors.

rThis is a part-time position. Application deadline is Wednesday, September 5th at 5 p.m.

rIn other news, the Wheat Kings are pleased to announce that two experienced public address announcers have been secured for the coming season, replacing Brad âGooseâ Gosseye who left for Alberta last spring.

rA former sportscaster at 880 CKLQ, Kurt Ardron currently serves as the âvoiceâ of the Manitoba Senior Baseball League’s Brandon Marlins while being employed at Brockie Donovan in Brandon. Joining him will be Vincent Massey vice principal Michael Adamski. In addition to announcing for a number of hockey teams including the Brandon University Bobcats, Adamski served as press box announcer for the Canadian Football League’s Winnipeg Blue Bombers for ten years.

rArdron and Adamski will make their Wheat King debuts during the club’s upcoming pre-season schedule that will see them play on Saturday, September 8th and Friday, September 14th against Swift Current and Moose Jaw respectively.

rThe Wheat Kings begin training camp next week and following a 4-game pre-season schedule will take to the ice to open up the 2007-08 regular season on Friday, September 21st against the visiting Saskatoon Blades.
