GAME RECAP: Silvertips end five-in-six with 6-1 win over Wenatchee
EVERETT, Wash. — The Everett Silvertips wrapped up a five-in-six with an emphatic 6-1 victory over the Wenatchee Wild Sunday afternoon.
Evan Friesen opened the scoring for Wenatchee at 7:50 in the first period, redirecting a Graham Sward shot on the powerplay for his 18th goal of the season. The Silvertips responded with a powerplay goal of their own at 9:15, as Dominik Rymon rifled a one-timer for his 29th goal of the season.
Everett erupted for four goals in the second period, with Julius Miettinen kicking off the busy period with an end-to-end goal at 5:17. Ben Hemmerling ripped a wrist shot on the powerplay just 1:11 later, giving him 21 goals on the year. Hayden Smith potted a rebound for his 10th at 9:16, chasing Wild netminder Daniel Hauser from the crease. Replacement goalie Brendan Gee surrendered a goal at 15:05 in the second period, a powerplay goal scored by Caden Brown.
Teague Patton tacked on a fourth powerplay goal at 15:49 in the third period to cap off a 6-1 victory. Tyler Palmer stopped 28 of 29 for the win in his fourth appearance in six nights.
