Tigers Shut-Out Rockets 2-0
The Medicine Hat Tigers defeated the Kelowna Rockets 2-0 Tuesday night in Medicine Hat.
The Tigers Jace Coyle scored midway through the first period and the goal stood up all the way until the end of third when the Rockets pulled starting netminder Adam Brown and Medicine Hat forward Emerson Etem scored into an empty net.
Speaking on the AM 1150 post game show, assistant coach Ryan Cuthbert said the team played a solid game but just couldn’t score.
“I liked our game, we just couldn’t put the puck in the net,” said Cuthbert. “We had a lot of chances but the puck just didn’t go in for us.”
The Rockets are now 1-and-2 on its five game road trip that will see them play in Lethbridge Wednesday and Calgary Friday night. The trip opened with a win in Red Deer and a loss in Edmonton.
Cuthbert said the effort was there in both the win in Red Deer and the loss in Medicine Hat.
“It was a good effort,” he said “You wish you could come out on top in a game like that but it’s part of a process. If we have efforts like that and like the Red Deer game and we can start to string those together then this team is going to get better every day.”
