Rockets take out Giants in return to Prospera
Oct. 3, 2012 – Kelowna, BC
The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Vancouver Giants 7-0 on Wednesday night at Prospera Place in Kelowna, winning its second straight Western Hockey League game.
Madison Bowey and Colton Sissons each scored twice while goalie Jordon Cooke earned his first shut-out of the season, stopping all 28 shots he faced for his second win of the season.
Myles Bell, with his team leading fourth goal of the season, Filip Vasko and Tyson Baillie also scored for the Rockets, who led 2-0 after two periods of play but blew the game open with five third period goals.
“I liked our first period,” said Rockets head coach Ryan Huska on the AM 1150 post game show. “It was good we had chances and made some plays. We were making plays to come out of our own zone. In the second period we slipped a little but in the third we got it back, we got our feet moving.”

The Rockets were 2-for-5 on the power play while holding Vancouver to an 0-for-5 night with the man advantage.
It was the team’s first win at Prospera Place this season.
“It was important to get the win at home,” said Huska. “Now the guys have the win at home and now it’s a matter for us to start making this a tough building to play in.”
The Rockets now head for Prince George for a pair of weekend games against the Cougars. Kelowna and Prince George will play Friday and Saturday at the CN Centre.
The Rockets return to Prospera Place next Wednesday when they play host to the Spokane Chiefs.
