Rockets Earn 3-2 Win Over Prince George
Kelowna 3 Prince George 2 – Nov. 18, 2011 – CN Centre – Prince George, BC
The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Prince George Cougars 3-2 Friday night at the CN Centre in Prince George in Western Hockey League action.
Carter Rigby, Cody Chikie and Madison Bowey scored first period goals for Kelowna as they improved to 7-11-2-1 on the season.
Rockets assistant coach Dan Lambert said it was a good effort defensively for Kelowna.
“I thought our defense did a great job of getting pucks out when we needed to,” said Lambert on the AM 1150 post game show. “It was a great win. I thought our guys paid the price tonight.”
Adam Brown earned the win in net as he faced 22 shots. The Rockets outshot Prince George 25-22
Charles Inglis and Greg Fraser replied for the Cougars.
The two teams play again on Saturday night in Prince George.
“It’s never an easy task to win two up here but we will get the guys ready to go and hopefully they respond with a good effort,” said Lambert.
