Kelowna 10-1 in November
The Kelowna Rockets closed out one of the best months in franchise history on Saturday night when the team won its 10th game of the month with a 3-2 overtime victory in Spokane.
The Rockets were 10-1 during the month, a stretch that improved its record from a 4-10 start to 14-11 overall and right in the thick of the Western Hockey League B.C. division standings.
The Rockets will enter December just two points out of first place in the WHL BC division with Prince George and Vancouver tied with 30 points, Kelowna next with 28 and Chilliwack and Kamloops one point back with 27 points.
Individually Adam Brown had a great month with nine of the team’s 10 wins in the month. Brown’s play makes him 11-10 on the season with a 2.79 goals against average and a .911 save percentage. In November those numbers were even better with a 1.96 GAA and .934 save percentage.
On offense Geordie Wudrick scored 11 goals and Tyson Barrie had 19 points for the Rockets in November.
Kelowna has nine games to play before the Christmas break, three of which will be at home. This week Kelowna will host Seattle on Wednesday before playing in Chilliwack on Friday and hosting Saskatoon on Saturday.
After hosting Swift Current Wednesday Dec. 8, the team will head on a five game road trip to Red Deer, Edmonton, Medicine Hat, Lethbridge and Calgary before breaking for Christmas.
After Christmas the Rockets host Everett on Dec. 28 and then Kamloops on Dec. 30.
