Bowey, Wheaton, Whistle Listed by NHL Central Scouting

Three members of the Kelowna Rockets have been listed by NHL Central Scouting in its preliminary North American rankings for the 2013 NHL Draft.
Seventeen year old defencemen Madison Bowey and Mitchell Wheaton along with goalie Jackson Whistle, also 17, were all listed among the top North American prospects for next year’s draft, compiled annually by NHL Central Scouting.
Bowey in his second season with the Rockets, has three goals and six assists in 21 games this season, compiling a plue-12 on the Rockets’ blueline. The 6-foot-1, 194 pound Winnipeg native was the Rockets second pick (23rd overall) of the 2010 WHL Bantam Draft.
Wheaton joined the Rockets this season and has been a steady addition to the blueline. The 6-foot-5, 225 pound Sherwood Park, AB, native is a plus-five and has three points in his rookie campaign. Wheaton was also a 2010 bantam draft pick by Kelowna as the club picked him in the ninth round.
A West Kelowna native, Whistle joined the Rockets in an early-season trade from Vancouver this year. He’s posted five wins in six starts with a 1.06 goals against average and .961 save percentage along with a shutout. Central Scouting listed Whistle as the seventh ranked goalie in North America.
