BC Division Race Heats Up with Two Weeks Left in Season

The race for the Western Hockey League’s BC Division title will come down to the final two weeks of the WHL regular season with the Kelowna Rockets and Kamloops Blazers in a dog fight for top spot.
Entering a Wednesday night game at home to the Victoria Royals, the Rockets (46-16-3-1) hold a three point edge on the Blazers (44-18-2-3) for first place in the WHL BC Division with the Blazers having won the most recent head to head meeting between the two teams, 3-0 on Sunday in Kamloops.

The Blazers have played one more game than the Rockets and will meet the Royals in Kamloops on Tuesday before Victoria arrives in Kelowna on Wednesday.
Those games will set the stage for a home and home series between the Rockets and Blazers this weekend with Kamloops hosting the Rockets Friday before the two teams meet at Prospera Place in Kelowna on Saturday.

The Rockets have six games remaining in the season. After this weekend’s action Kelowna closes out the WHL regular season next week by hosting Prince George on March 14 before a home and home with Vancouver to end the season. Kelowna plays the Giants in Vancouver on March 15 and then ends the season on March 16 at Prospera Place.
