Rockets Edge Blazers 1-0 in WHL Preseason Play
The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Kamloops Blazers 1-0 on Friday night at Prospera Place in Kelowna as the Rockets improved to 2-1-0-0 in the WHL Preseason.
Dillon Dube snapped a 0-0 tie in the third period with his first goal of the WHL Preseason, finishing a nice passing play with Jake Kryski and Tanner Wishnowski drawing assists.
The game was scoreless through two periods of play as the Rockets outshot the Blazers 27-11 through two periods and 40-23 in the game.
Michael Herringer earned the win in net, playing the entire game in his first action of the preseason.
The Rockets and Blazers are right back at it again on Saturday night as the two teams will meet again in Kamloops to continue the WHL Preseason.
Kelowna closes out the preseason at home next Friday night when they host Vancouver.
The Rockets and Blazers will before opening the WHL regular season with a home-and-home series Sept. 23 in Kamloops and Sept. 24 in Kelowna.
