- The Rockets are looking to bounce back after opening the season with a 6-3 loss to the Victoria Royals on Friday night at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre. Pavel Novak had a pair of goals while Nolan Flamand added another for the Rockets. Cole Schwebius started the night, stopping 9 of the 14 shots faced on him. Tisdale replaced Schwebius, stopping the three shots he faced.
- Forward Colton Dachis expected to make his Kelowna Rockets debut tonight. The 2021 second-round pick of the Chicago Blackhawks was returned to Kelowna yesterday morning. Dach appeared in two pre-season games with the Blackhawks, posting a goal and three shots on net. Acquired from the Saskatoon Blades in exchange for Trevor Wong last week, Dach posted 20 points (11G, 9A) over 20 games with the. Blades during the 2020-21 season. He led all Saskatoon skaters in goals (11) and power-play goals (5) scored last season.
- Defenceman Tyson Feist was named the 26th captain in Rockets history this past week. Last season he set career bests during the Rockets shortened season, posting ten points (2G, 8A), 18 penalty minutes and a team leadings +15 plus/minus rating over 14 games. Undrafted, the 20-year-old earned an invite to the Arizona Coyotes camp this fall.

- Gabriel Szturc, Marcus Pacheco and Caden Price all made their WHL regular-season debuts on Friday. Both Szturc and Price picked up their first WHL assists on Nolan Flamand’s goal in the second period.
- Max Graham led the Rockets in scoring during the preseason, he posted five points (2G, 3A) over four games and a winning faceoff percentage of 57.1%.
- Pavel Novak led the Rockets in scoring during the 2019-20 season with 58 points (25G, 33A) over 58 games as a 17-year-old rookie. The Minnesota Wild prospect returns to the Rockets for the 2021-22 season after spending a season over in Europe — he was unable to obtain a visa due to Covid-19 last season. He didn’t miss a beat in his first game back with the Rockets, netting two goals against the Royals on Friday night.
