Rockets win in a shootout

r The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Prince George Cougars 5-4 in a shootout on Wednesday night as Tyson Barrie and Adam Brown combined to win the game in the shootout.

r Barrie was the only Kelowna player to score in the shootout while Brown stopped all three Cougars shooters as Kelowna improved to 9-7-1-0.

r Kelowna jumped out of the gates quickly, scoring twice in the game's first eight minutes on goals by Mitchell Callahan and Brandon McMillan.

r The Cougars made a game of it though, scoring twice in the period as James Dobrowolski had both PG goals in the period. Cougars forward Nick Buonassisi put Prince George on top with a breakaway goal after coming out of the penalty box midway through the second period for a 3-2 lead. Kelowna's Kyle St. Denis tipped in a power play marker on a nice pass from Shane McColgan to tie the game at 3-3 and send the team's to the dressing room locked in a tie through 40 minutes

r The teams exchanged goals early in the third period. Spencer Main scored to give the Rockets a 4-3 lead before the Cougars Robbi Ciolfi tied it up at 4-4 just two minutes later.

r A scoreless overtime sent the game to the shootout and the Rockets win.
