Storm Take Game 1 of West Final
The Guelph Storm take game one of the Rogers Western Conference Final 5-4 over the visiting Erie Otters.
Connor Brown opened the scoring for the Otters in the first period in a highly anticipated West Final. Jason Dickinson replied for the Storm to leave things knotted at one after one. Tyler Bertuzzi scored his first of two on the night a 1:32 into the second frame. Brendan Gaunce would even things up and the Otters would take the lead with Dylan Strome’s second of the post-season.
Kerby Rychel’s third of the playoffs tied the game at 3-3 heading into the third.
Andre Burakovsky put the Otters back out in front 2:24 into the third but Bertuzzi’s second only 25 seconds later tied things up once again. Ryan Horvat put the Storm in front for the first time in the game with a deflection off a Phil Baltisberger point shot at 6:00.
