Sunday Highlights: 67’s, Battalion and Spitfires secure big Hockey Day in the OHL victories

- 67’s forward and Lambton-area native Brady Stonehouse scored the eventual game-winner late in the third period on a penalty shot.
- Logan Morrison scored and added an assist, he now sits one point away from 250 in his OHL career.
- Morrison and Jack Beck combined for a pair of goals and assists, and the pair combined for 13 points on their three-win weekend road trip.
- Ethan Del Mastro and Nolan Burke each had a goal and an assist for Sarnia.

Kitchener Rangers 2, Guelph Storm 6
- Brayden Gillespie stopped 28 of 30 shots earning third-star honours, the Rangers outshot the Storm 30-19 in the contest.
- Braeden Bowman recorded his sixth two-goal game of the season, netting both markers on the power play.
- Boston Bruins prospect Matthew Poitras recorded three assists. His 47 are the third-most in the OHL.
- Lleyton Moore recorded his first goal in a Rangers sweater in the loss while Danny Zhilkin scored his 20th of the season.

Barrie Colts 2, Sudbury Wolves 1 – OT
- Brandt Clarke set up Jacob Frasca to tie the game in the third and Ethan Cardwell in overtime to win the game in comeback fashion for Barrie.
- Sudbury led for 40 minutes backed by great goaltending from Nate Krawchuk who earned first star making 28 saves.
- Wolves forward Quentin Musty returned to the lineup recording five shots in his first action since Jan. 7th.
- Arizona Coyotes prospect Anson Thornton stopped 38 of 39 for the win as Barrie closes out the weekend 27-13-5-2 for third in the Eastern Conference.

Mississauga Steelheads 4, Soo Greyhounds 3
- Luke Misa scored twice, giving him 10 goals on the season.
- Zander Veccia picked up a goal and an assist for the Fish.
- Charlie Schenkel made 30 saves in his first start since Nov. 25th. The Greyhounds were outshot 34-18.
- The loss was the Greyhounds’ seventh straight defeat as they now sit four points back of eighth place Kitchener in the Western Conference.

- Seattle Kraken prospect Ty Nelson scored his first career OHL hat trick in the victory.
- Florida Panthers prospect and captain Liam Arnsby had a goal and two assists in his first action since Jan. 5th.
- Brett Bouchard scored his first goal of the season for North Bay.
- Ian Lemieux ended Dom DiVincentiis’ shutout bid 11:15 into the third period, scoring his first as a Frontenac.
- The win completed a four-game sweep over the Fronts for North Bay, Kingston was the only team North Bay swept in last season’s regular season.
- Nine goals tied the Battalion’s season high set on Nov. 3rd against Niagara.

- Jacob Oster earned his third shutout in his last four games, tying him with Michael Simpson for the OHL lead. It’s the first time Erie has been shutout this season.
- Ryan Gagnier continues to pace the Gens in goals, scoring twice in the victory to give him 23 on the season.
- Stuart Rolofs extended his point streak to seven games (4-6–10) with an assist on Gagnier’s second goal, tied for the fourth longest current streak in the OHL.
- The Generals won despite being outshot 31-21 as they sit one point back of eighth place Sudbury in the Eastern Conference at 20-22-1-3.

- Jacob Maillet set a new career high for points in a single game with five (2-3–5) in the win.
- With four assists Matt Maggio reached 100 in his OHL career. He also became the first OHL player to score 40 goals this season.
- Liam Greentree scored his 23rd goal of the season, giving him 10 in his last nine games.
- Cole Davis made his OHL debut for the Spitfires, scoring late in the third for his first in the OHL.
