Fink and Fullerton commit to Spirit
Saginaw, MI – Saginaw Spirit General Manager Dave Drinkill announced today (Sept.2) the organization has signed forward Charlie Fink and goaltender Brett Fullerton to a Standard Player Agreement and Education Package.
“I am happy to announce we have added Charlie Fink and Brett Fullerton as we continue to build our roster,” said Drinkill. “Charlie Fink is a rugged power forward with a quick shot. We look for him to add some physicality to our lineup. Brett Fullerton has an NHL frame. We like the way he fills the net and I know (Goaltending Coach) Rick Ice is looking forward to working with him this season.”
Fink, 17, was drafted by the Spirit in the second round, 39th overall, in the 2021 Under-18 Priority Selection. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound right wing was sidelined last season due to the pandemic and last played for his hometown Mississauga Senators U15 where he scored 9 points (5 goals – 4 assists) in 32 games.
Fullerton, 17, was selected by the Spirit in the 14th round, 278th overall, in the 2020 OHL Priority Selection. The Ancaster, Ontario native last played in the 2019-20 season for the Burlington Eagles U16. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound netminder played in 19 games and finished with a 2.65 goals against average.
Fink will wear No. 21 and Fullerton will wear No. 33 for the Spirit this season.
