Entwistle voted ‘Alpha Dog’ by Bulldogs fans

The results of a summer-long Hamilton Bulldogs fan vote are in, and MacKenzie Entwistle has been chosen as ‘Alpha Dog’ of the franchise.

The final poll between Entwistle and former netminder Kaden Fulcher received an impressive 5,400 votes and only 15 votes separated Entwistle from the goaltender.

A native of Georgetown, Ont., Entwistle was Hamilton’s second round pick in their inaugural 2015 OHL Priority Selection. The 6-foot-3, 181Ib. forward played parts of four seasons in Steeltown, guiding the club to its first OHL Championship in 2018. This past season he joined the Guelph Storm, hoisting the J. Ross Robertson Cup in back-to-back years.

Originally a third round pick of the Arizona Coyotes in 2017, Entwistle was dealt to the Chicago Blackhawks in a July 2018 transaction that saw long-time pro Marian Hossa go the other way. Entwistle is expected to turn pro in 2019-20, having signed an entry-level NHL contract with the Hawks in October 2018.

In 220 career OHL regular season contests, Entwistle collected 134 points (61-73–134). He was also a consistent performer in the playoffs, producing 40 points (18-22–40) over 52 career postseason contests.

The Bulldogs are celebrating five years in Hamilton this season.
