Dewachter, Dianov and He sign with IceDogs
NIAGARA, ON – The Niagara IceDogs are pleased to announce the signings of Darcy Dewachter, Eric He and Rafek Dianov. All three have signed an OHL scholarship and development agreement.
Darcy Dewachter, a native of London, ON was drafted in the 9th round, #163rd overall in the 2023 OHL Priority Selection by the IceDogs. The defenceman has played 38 games so far this season with the Brantford Bandits in the GOJHL. While also appearing in three games with the IceDogs as an affiliate player. Dewachter played his U16 season with the Brantford 99ers.
Eric He, the younger brother of IceDogs standout Kevin He, was drafted in the 8th round #145th overall in the 2023 OHL Priority Selection from the Toronto Red Wings program of the GTHL. The 6’2″ forward from Nobleton, ON has spent this season with the North York Rangers of the OJHL playing in 37 games, while also appearing in four games as an affiliate player with the IceDogs.
Rafek Dianov, originally from Moscow, Russia was drafted in the 13th round, #243rd overall in the 2023 OHL Priority Selection by the IceDogs. The young forward has spent this season with the Toronto Red Wings U18 program in the GTHL after playing for the Mississauga Senators of the GTHL during his U16 season. Dianov already has his first career OHL goal to his name after scoring in his OHL debut against the Brantford Bulldogs where he was serving as an affiliate player for the IceDogs.
