67’s promote Jan Egert to Associate General Manager and Director of Scouting
The Ottawa 67’s have promoted Jan Egert to Associate General Manager and Director of Scouting, also announcing today that they have signed him to a multi-year contract extension.
“Throughout his years of experience working at the OHL, NHL, and international levels, Jan has established himself as a key talent evaluator and executive,” said 67’s General Manager James Boyd. “We felt it appropriate to adjust his title to Associate General Manager to reflect the additional management responsibilities, and projects that Jan has assumed during his time with the 67’s.”
“Jan’s commitment is an important step for the 67’s family. We look forward to our continued partnership, and shared goals of building our team, and improving the supports available to all of our players and staff.”
Egert, 35, has served as 67’s Assistant General Manager and Director of Scouting since 2017; where he has helped oversee an Eastern Conference Champion squad in 2019, and franchise record-setting regular season champions in 2020, and 2023.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to continue to be a part of OSEG and the Ottawa 67’s hockey club,” Egert said. “I look forward to continuing to support our organization, team, and players on their career paths, as we pursue success, and an OHL Championship.”
Hailing from Uster, Switzerland, Egert spent six seasons with the Mississauga Steelheads/St. Michael’s Majors, working his way up from Video Coach, to Assistant General Manager and Director of Scouting. He also previously served as a Coordinator for Central Scouting, and boasts extensive work as a Video Coach for the Swiss national team, including at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.
