67’s push Generals to the brink with 5-1 win
A little more than 24 hours after exploding for four goals in the third period against Oshawa, the Ottawa 67’s spread the wealth around on Sunday night.
The 67’s scored in all three periods against the Generals in a tidy 5-1 win in Game 3 and are now a single win from playing for an OHL Championship.
Tye Felhaber scored the first and fifth goals of the game for the 67’s, who jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period and never looked back. Oshawa briefly cut the 67’s lead in half midway through the second on a goal from Nicolas Mattinen but the 67’s responded with three-straight goals to put the game out of reach.
Marco Rossi, who also had an assist, Jack Quinn, with a shorthanded marker, and Lucas Chiodo also scored for the 67’s, who have now won 11-straight playoff games.
Mikey DiPietro made 28 saves to pick up the win for Ottawa, while Oshawa goalie Kyle Keyser stopped 35 shots.
The teams will get a short break before Game 4 in Oshawa on Wednesday night at the Tribute Communities Centre.
