Winther, Draisaitl Make the Moms Proud
Mike Winther and Leon Draisaitl had their best games of the season on a night where the Raiders honoured the players’ moms prior to the game.
Winther converted a Draisatil feed to open the scoring before the German forward set up a Josh Morrissey goal less than a minute later.
Draisaitl and Winther hooked up for the Raiders third goal late in the first frame to give the Green and Gold a commanding 3-0 lead to end the period.
Dakota Conroy scored the only goal of the middle frame to add to his team-leading total this season.
Moose Jaw was able to get on the board midway through the third period, but Winther buried his hat-trick goal late in the game to seal the victory for the Raiders.
Luke Siemens stopped 27 of 28 shots to defeat his former team, while Dakota Conroy scored once again and added an assist, earning Dickies Hardest Working Raider of the night honours.
