Ice Freeze Raiders 3-2 in Overtime
The Prince Albert Raiders could not cling to a 2-goal lead in the third period, falling 3-2 to the Kootenay Ice in overtime Wednesday night at the Art Hauser Centre.
Anthony Bardaro opened the scoring for the home team and Mike Winther put the Green and Gold up by two midway through the first period.
The middle duration of the game belonged to the goaltenders, who made stellar saves at each end of the ice to keep the game 2-0 through 40 minutes.
In the third, the Ice scored early, and tied the game just past the midway point of the final frame before a Raider pass hopped over a stick, in overtime, leading to a 2-on-1 for the Ice that was finished off by Sam Reinhart to give Kootenay the win.
Luke Siemens was named the Dickies Hardest working Raider, stopping 31 of 34 shots faced including 4 in overtime.
