Raiders Acquire McVeigh From Blazers
Prince Albert SK – The Prince Albert Raiders have acquired 17-year-old forward Logan McVeigh and a 2nd round pick in the 2012 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft from the Kamloops Blazers in exchange for 20-year-old forward Brandon Herrod.
McVeigh, who was drafted in the 2nd round, 32nd overall, in the 2009 WHL Bantam Draft by the Blazers has recorded 5 goals, 11 assists and 6 penalty minutes in 34 games this year. Last season, the Kenaston, Saskatchewan product notched 4 goals and 9 assists in 59 contests. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound sophomore played for the Saskatoon Contacts of the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League prior to entering the WHL. In 39 games with the Contacts, McVeigh scored 20 goals and added 34 assists along with 36 penalty minutes.
