Pats take six players in rounds five through nine to conclude the 2019 WHL Bantam Draft
The Regina Pats Hockey Club is pleased to announce they have selected six players in rounds five through nine to conclude the 2019 WHL Bantam Draft. In total, the Pats selected 11 players in the draft, six forwards, four defencemen and one goaltender.
In round five, 90th overall, the Pats took Calgary centre Kaiden Wiltsie (5’9, 145) He had 22 goals and 15 assists in 31 games with the Calgary Bisons Bantam AAA in 2018-19.
With their second pick in round five, 91st overall, Regina selected left winger Carter Cormier. Cormier (5’9, 160) played with the Notre Dame Hounds in 2018-19, scoring eight goals and adding nine assists in 30 games.
In the seventh round, 135th overall, the Pats selected defenceman Riley Applegate from Marwayne, AB. Applegate (6’0, 141) played with the Lloydminster Bobcats Bantam AAA in 2018-19, scoring two goals and 10 assists in 18 games.
In the eighth round, 155th overall, Regina took defenceman Colby Woogk (5’11, 181). Woogk hails from Dallas, Texas and played with the Dallas Jr. Stars in 2018-19 where he had two goals and four assists in 12 games.
With the first of two picks in round nine, 179th overall, the Pats took forward Brayden Barnett from Martensville, SK. Barnett (6’1, 164) put up 23 goals and 23 assists in 29 games with the Martensville Marauders.
At 186th overall in the ninth round, Regina made their last pick, selecting defenceman Jacob Dewitt out of Sicamous, BC. Dewitt (6’3, 175) played 2018-19 with OHA Bantam Prep, where he had one goal and 13 assists in 28 games.

The Pats 2019 Draft class along with prospects from the 2018 draft will be in Regina for the club’s spring camp from May 24-26 at the Cooperators Centre.
