Four Points Up For Grabs
Prince George, BC – The Cougars lead for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference could potentially be as much as 10, while it could also be down to two heading into the weekend.
The Cougars and Chilliwack Bruins (14-33-2-4) collide for a pair of games in three days, starting Wednesday, with six points separating the two BC division rivals for the 8th seed in the West. So far this season, the Cougars have enjoyed the upper hand by taking all four get-togethers this season and are currently on a five game winning streak against the Bruins. Of their quartet of wins vs. Chilliwack, two have been decided in overtime, while another one went to a shoot-out.
Both teams go into the game struggling. The Cougars (19-32-0-2) have dropped their last five games, the last two at the hands of the Vancouver Giants on the weekend at the CN Centre. The Bruins, meanwhile, have not only lost three straight, but they have not scored a goal over that span, being shut-out by Vancouver, Spokane and Tri-City. These two teams will see each other again a week from Friday, and then one final time on March 13, both games in Chilliwack.
Game time Wednesday and Friday is 7:00 at the CN Centre with tickets available at Ticketmaster by calling 250-564-5585 or going online at www.ticketmaster.ca.
