NELSON Named Boston Pizza 'Fan's Choice' WHL Player of the Week
On Friday, November 30th, the Kootenay Ice rolled into the newly renovated Credit Union i-plex to take on the host Swift Current Broncos. Nelson picked up two assists in the unfortunate 7-5 loss to the Ice.
On Saturday, December 1st, the Broncos hosted WHL East Division rivals the Brandon Wheat Kings. Nelson picked up a goal and an assist in the Broncos 4-2 loss to the Wheat Kings. He was also named the games 1st Star.
Originally from Calgary, Alberta, Nelson has spent the last three seasons competing with the Swift Current Broncos in the Western Hockey League. Nelson was picked up in the 6th Round of the 2006 NHL Entry draft by the Boston Bruins.
