Broncos Squeak Past Hurricanes
The Swift Current Broncos beat the Lethbridge Hurricanes for the second time in a row with a 4-3 win on the road at the Enmax Centre. Bronco’ Reece Scarlett would score his second goal of the season with help from Jordan Peddle and Andy Blanke. Less than a minute later the Hurricanes would even it up at 1. Brad Hoban and Cody Eakin (tonight’s first star) would help Killian Hutt put one past Brandon Anderson giving the Broncos a 2-1 lead after the first. Hurricanes’ Neil Tarnasky would score the only goal in the second period tying it up once more at 2-2. In the third period, Hurricanes’ Russell Maxwell would be called for high sticking giving the Broncos their third power play of the night. Taylor Vause would capitalize on the man advantage knocking one past Anderson. Halfway through the third, the Hurricanes would make it a 3-3 game. A holding call to the Hurricanes would allow Adam Lowry to score a much needed goal for the Broncos giving them a 4-3 win. This will be the Broncos third consecutive win. On the man advantage, the Broncos were 2/5 and the Hurricanes were 0/3. The Broncos had 31 shots on net while the Hurricanes had 30.
