BLAZERS FALL SHORT IN 4-3 LOSS
The Kamloops Blazers outshot the Seattle Thunderbirds 35-15, but fell short in a 4-3 loss at home on Sunday night.
The Blazers opened the scoring as Jackson Shepard tipped a shot from Nolan Kneen for a 1-0 lead five minutes into the game. The Thunderbirds tied it up on a goal by Noah Philp as we went into the second period tied 1-1.
The Thunderbirds took the lead with a power play goal from Austin Strand. Brodi Stuart tied it up on a rebound, but the Thunderbirds would scored again to lead 3-2. The Blazers came back to tie it on a goal by Nick Chyzowski, but a power play marker from Sami Moilanen would give them a 4-3 lead through two periods.
The Blazers outshot their opponents 23-11 over the final two periods, but could not find a way to score in a 4-3 loss.
The Thunderbirds were 2-for-4 on the power play, while the Blazers finished 0-for-5.
The Blazers will close out their four game homestand with a game on Wednesday, October 11th against the Calgary Hitmen.
