BLAZERS ANNOUNCE SIGNING OF 2005-BORN FORWARD EMMITT FINNIE
Kamloops, BC – General Manager and Head Coach Shaun Clouston announced today the signing of 2005-born forward Emmitt Finnie to a standard WHL player agreement.
“We are really excited to have Emmitt commit to our program,” commented Director of Player Personnel, Robbie Sandland. “Emmitt thinks the game at a very high level,” continued Sandland. “With his hockey sense, skill, drive and determination, we feel he has a lot of upside as a player. His game is tailor made to have success as a Blazer”.
Finnie was selected by the Blazers in the 4th round, 82nd overall in the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft. In 2019-20 he had 26 goals, 35 assists and 61 points in 30 games with Yale Hockey Academy’s Under-15 Prep team.
“We look forward to working with Emmitt to achieve his goals on and off the ice,” concluded Sandland.
Finnie, who stands at 5’10” and resides in Abbotsford, BC, will make his WHL preseason debut this weekend when the Blazers host the Prince George Cougars on Friday, September 17th at the Sandman Centre before travelling to Prince George for a game on Saturday, September 18th.
