Antigonish, Nova Scotia — Former Tri-City Americans captain Justin Feser is reuniting with former teammate Drew Owsley after committing to play for St. Francis Xavier University.
“We are extremely excited to add Justin to the X-Men hockey program,” coach Brad Peddle said in a news release. “He is a top recruit and a proven offensive player that had a very consistent WHL career with a strong Tri-City program.
“Justin is a dynamic player that can play in any situation and will make a big impact to our offense. He is a high character individual with great leadership skills, combined with a tremendous work ethic, evident by his current WHL Iron-Man title.
He may still have some pro options available over the summer, but unless the right contract presents itself, he will be an outstanding addition to our hockey program and a great fit to our returning group.”
Owsley, a native of Lethbridge, Alberta, just finished his first year with the X-Men, going 6-7 last season in 15 appearances. He had a 2.90 goals against average and a .912 save percentage.
