Topping, Feser Resume Season-Long MDA Fundraiser
Kennewick, WA – The Tri-City Americans, inspired by former team captain Justin Feser, and current team captain, Mitch Topping, are proud to announce the continuation of the ‘Making Awareness a Top Priority to Fes out Muscular Dystrophy’ campaign.
Feser and Topping launched the campaign last October to help raise money and awareness for the Inland Northwest chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association. For every Americans home win this season, Topping will donate $10 out of his own pocket to the MDA. And Feser, although currently playing professional hockey in Switzerland, will continue to contribute to the cause from afar. In return, the Tri-City Americans have opted to match the player’s donations dollar for dollar.
“I’m beyond excited to start things up again with Justin this season,” explained Topping. “We had a terrific response from the fans here in Tri-Cities and appreciate all the support! Having the opportunity to spend time with the kids and their families is rewarding in so many ways.”
“I am excited to continue being a proud partner with Mitch with our project to raise money for the MDA, even from afar,” Feser described. “We had a great time doing the project together last season, so we thought, why not keep it going while (Topping) is still there.”
Both players are encouraging fans to get involved as well. Volunteers will be at the exits after every home win accepting donations. In addition, a table will be at most home games to accept donations through cash, check or pledge card or fans can go donate ONLINE.
“The Tri-City Americans make such a difference for the people and families we serve,” said MDA Fundraising Coordinator, Alexa Borden. “The funds they raise are used for health care services, equipment support, fund research and to help send kids to MDA summer camp in Idaho. All of the funds raised stay in the local community and we are very grateful for everything they do.”
The campaign will culminate with the Americans’ final home games in March, which includes the annual Sterling Bank Go Green for MDA Night on Saturday, March 15 against the Spokane Chiefs, where fans are encouraged to wear green to help support those with Muscular Dystrophy through various fundraising activities.
