Coming Soon: Nuclear Night This Saturday
Join us at the Toyota Center this Saturday, Jan. 26 for the 4th annual CH2M Hill Nuclear Night, presented by 98.3 The Key, KNDU-TV and MOM Magazine. Don’t miss your Americans face-off against the WHL-leading Portland Winterhawks on CH2M Hill Plateau Remediation Company’s annual tribute to the atomic history of the Tri-Cities, and fundraiser for the Tri-City Hockey Booster Club’s Player’s Continuing Education Fund!
This year’s event is highlighted by:
• Specialty nuclear-inspired team jerseys that will be auctioned off online after the game
• In-arena Silent Auction featuring a variety of player autographed memorabilia and Nuclear Night items
• Limited-edition Nuclear Night merchandise
• Zero-Waste Minimization efforts focused plastic and aluminum recycling
• Hanford History Outreach from both the CREHST Museum and B-Reactor Museum
This year’s game-worn Nuclear Night online auction will again take place at AmsHockeyAuctions.com. Online bidding starts at 10:30 PM on Saturday and will feature all 20 game-worn player jerseys, additional blank jerseys that do not have player names or numbers as well as a selection of autographed memorabilia. For jersey, the minimum bid is $200 with a Buy It Now option of $500. The auction closes at 10:00 PM on Thursday, January 31 with all proceeds benefitting the Player’s Continuing Education Fund!
The fundraising fun will ‘mushroom’ onto the Toyota Center concourse as well, with a large silent auction featuring glow-in-the-dark player autographed pucks and autographed sports memorabilia. You can also get your limited-edition 2013 Nuclear Night merchandise by visiting the Americans’ Team Store either online at Store.AmsHockey.com or by visiting the Team Store on the Toyota Center concourse this weekend.
New to this year’s event, the Americans, CH2M Hill and VenuWorks will aim to bring awareness to the importance of recycling and have a stated goal of ‘Zero Waste’ of plastic bottles and aluminum cans ending up in the area landfill. The Toyota Center concourse will feature numerous Coca Cola-branded recycling stations, specifically designed for the collection of soda/beer cans and soda/water bottles. There will also be volunteers going through the sections during the intermission breaks to help collect and recycle these items.
Nuclear Night also provides a great opportunity for fans to learn more about the atomic history of the Tri-Cities region! Representatives from the Columbia River Exhibition of History, Science & Technology Museum and the famous B-Reactor Museum will be on the Toyota Center concourse to talk and visit with fans.
The first 2,000 fans will receive the second set of 2012-13 Tri-City Americans Trading Cards, courtesy of U.S. Cellular. It’s a Preston Premium Wines’ Premium Game. Simply purchase fifty dollars or more online at Prestonwines.com and get two tickets to the game, while supplies last. It’s also another Jack in the Box Rock the Rink Saturday Night, with Students (ages 10-19) receiving $2.00 off walk-up prices at the Toyota Center box office, simply by showing a valid student card.
