Making Awareness a Top Priority to Fes out Muscular Dystrophy
Kennewick, WA- The Tri-City Americans, inspired by team captain Justin Feser and assistant captain Mitch Topping, are proud to announce the ‘Making Awareness a Top Priority to Fes out Muscular Dystrophy’ campaign.
“After meeting kids at the telethon and reading more about Muscular Dystrophy, it’s good that we can take advantage by spreading the word a little more to raise awareness to help these kids with what they are challenged with,” Feser said. “It is a good opportunity to learn more about it and to help find a cure.”
Feser and Topping have launched the campaign to help raise money and awareness for the Inland Northwest chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association. For every Americans home win, Feser and Topping will each donate $10 out of their own pocket to the MDA. In return, the Tri-City Americans have opted to match the player’s donations dollar for dollar.
“We feel that the MDA is important and closely connected with us and the team,” Topping explained. “After being inspired from events early in the season, it was an easy choice to help the MDA. The most rewarding part is being connected with the kids and their families to help aid them in their fight.”
Both players are encouraging fans to get involved as well. Volunteers will be at the exits after every home win accepting donations. In addition, a table will be at most home games to accept donations through cash, check or pledge card.
To help kick off the campaign, Feser and Topping will be honorary guests at the Tri-Cities Executive Lock-Up on Thursday, October 25 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Texas Roadhouse in Kennewick. The Lock-Up program centers on recruiting business and community leaders as “jailbirds” to raise “bail” for the local MDA chapter.
The campaign will culminate with the Americans’ final home game on Saturday, March 16 against Spokane as part of Sterling Bank’s Go Green for MDA fundraising night, where fans are encouraged to wear green to help support those with Muscular Dystrophy.
